Defining Wellness
We are obsessed with our weight. On average, we have spent more than 50 billion (yes, billion) dollars last year trying to achieve the impossible idea of thinness and beauty. The stress and lack of value we place on ourselves and in our own abilities wrecks havoc with all the other areas of our life. It affects relationships, our physical and mental health, productivity and our ability to fell satisfied and happy.
In so many cases our expectations are not only undefined but are unrealistic and cause us to feel overwhelmed. We expect either too much or not enough from ourselves.
For me, wellness is the responsibility I take for the quality of my life. The areas of well being are self-responsibility; exercise; nutrition; stress management (good & bad); value; purpose; gratefulness; emotional intelligence; play; fun and relationships.
Being healthy and achieving wellness doesn’t simply rely on a scale to determine whether we are successful. Rather it embodies all aspects of our life , our personal and professional desires, our values, satisfaction and outcomes. How we choose to engage in our world and what we expect in return determines our fulfillment and happiness.
It is when we feel balanced we achieve the goals we have for ourselves. Believe in feeling good.
